The Story of Circle of Destination

Tucked into the rugged heart of Escalante, Utah—where the desert stretches wide and the sandstone cliffs glow at sunset—you’ll find Circle of Destination, an independent inn with a spirit as wild as the land it calls home. We’re not just a stop on the map. We’re the place you start—a launchpad for your boldest adventures and a cozy landing pad when you’re ready to rest your boots.

A Legacy of Welcome

Our story began decades ago, in a high desert town that’s long been a gateway to the extraordinary. Back then, Escalante was a frontier outpost, a quiet blip on the road for travelers chasing the promise of Zion, Bryce Canyon, and Capitol Reef. The original inn stood as a beacon of welcome in this untamed landscape, offering simple comforts to those brave enough to venture beyond the pavement.

Reimagined for the Modern Explorer

Today, Circle of Destination is that same warm welcome, reimagined for the modern explorer. We’ve got 21 rooms, each thoughtfully refreshed to give you the perfect blend of rustic charm and practical comfort. Think crisp linens, a hot shower, Wi-Fi to plan your next trail, and a sense of calm that comes from knowing you’re right where you belong.

Wake Up at The Destination Café

When you’re ready to refuel, stop by The Destination Café, our on-site coffee shop where the espresso is strong, the breakfast burritos are legendary, and the drinks are as bold and refreshing as the desert itself. Start your morning with a cappuccino before sunrise, grab a cold brew for the road, or unwind in the evening with a craft cocktail or local brew. The Destination Café is the heart of our community—where stories are swapped, adventures are planned, and the spirit of the desert comes alive.

Your Basecamp for the Mighty Five

Outside our doors, the world opens up. Circle of Destination sits at 6,000 feet, a perfect basecamp for exploring Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument, just minutes from the Lower Calf Creek Falls trailhead. We’re also an hour’s drive from Bryce Canyon and Capitol Reef National Parks—two of Utah’s Mighty Five. Here for a weekend of hiking and stargazing or a full-on desert road trip? We’ve got your room ready and plenty of ideas to fuel your adventure.

A Circle for the Wild-Hearted

Circle of Destination isn’t just a place to stay. It’s a gathering point for the wild-hearted—a circle of travelers who believe that the best stories aren’t found in guidebooks, but written in dust trails, canyon echoes, and the stars above Escalante.
